About Ohio CPPA
The Ohio State Chapter of the Christian Paintball
Player's Association is a group of Christian paintball players that
seek to promote fair, wholesome paintball in the State of Ohio. Ohio
CPPA members do not approve of cursing, swearing, or vulgar gestures
in either paintball media or any paintball game played. The Ohio CPPA
leadership believes that paintball products should not be named after
"dark" religions or the enemy of our God, the devil. However, the Ohio
CPPA will not impose this as a "legalistic rule" on the members of the
Ohio CPPA. Ohio CPPA members desire to reach the paintball community
by being a living example of God's Word to players around us as
opportunities are given to us by the Holy Spirit. The OCPPA believes
and adheres to the following, concerning our collective Christian
faith: OCPPA is a Jesus-focused ministry that crosses all racial,
denominational, age, and gender barriers. We believe paintball players
can come together as members of the Body of Christ to celebrate the
greatness of God through righteous (clean, pure, and honest...NOT
self-righteous) behavior on and off the field.
How is this possible? Simple. We believe God is the
omnipotent creator. We believe the Bible was written by men through
the direction of the Holy Spirit. We believe that every word in the
Bible is as true today as the day it was written, and shall remain so
forever. The Bible teaches us that believing Jesus is the only
begotten Son of the living God, He was born of a virgin, He died on a
cross to pay for our sin, He defeated death and the grave and was
resurrected three days after His death, and that He is the ONLY way to
have a correctly restored relationship with our Father God is what
matters. We believe that Jesus Christ returned to heaven and at this
very moment is preparing a place for the servants of God. We believe
Jesus shall return again and we look forward to the glory of spending
eternity in the presence of God. If you share these beliefs, you will
find the Ohio State Chapter of the CPPA will easily become an integral
part of your paintball experiences here on earth. (The preceding
belief statement is taken and adapted from the National CPPA Statement
of Faith.)
In addition to a good, general, Christian witness
on the field, the Ohio CPPA has established a statewide Tournament
Ministry Team. This team is called "Team Fireproof." Where did the
Ohio CPPA get this team name? Perhaps you've heard of the Christian
band "Pillar". They wrote a powerful, high energy song entitled,
"Fireproof." That was the inspiration for our State Team Name. We have
been made "Fireproof" by the Blood of Jesus. In addition to the
Tournament Ministry Team (which currently has a fixed roster), the
Ohio CPPA has also established a Paintball Scenario Ministry Team.
This team is called "FST-1" (Fireproof Scenario Team - 1). This team
is open to any Ohio CPPA member. The Roster is whoever would like to
join us at any Scenario events we do. To date, FST-1 has participated
in one Scenario ministry outreach at Pinnacle Woods Paintball near
Cleveland, OH.
Other ministry and fellowship activities include a
Statewide gathering to be held once a year near Columbus, OH, and a
statewide Church League. For more information on the Church League,

Coordinator. dan@ohiocppa.org
